All right. You have Suikoden 2. You know everything back and forth, including the characters' names. And yet, you come here and find yourself confused over some of the names. "Who the heck is Krugan?" you wonder to yourself. "Don't you mean Culgan?" The answer is that many of Suikoden 2 fans here have "grown up" with the fan translation and are unhappy with Konami's translation, so they continue to use the fan translation on their own. Here is a tiny little list of some names that will pop up in the near future. It'll take too long to compile an entire list.

| Jiyoui Atoreido | Joey Atreido | Joei Atreides, Jowy Atreides | If players named the hero "Joey", they could easily reset the game and take 3 minutes to name the hero something else. In the demo and screener copies of Suikoden 2, Joey's name is spelt "Joei". In the actual released version, his name is spelt "Jowy". While Jowy sounds closer to the original than "Joei" (sounds like "Joay"), it's pretty strange to look at. Given the original, the "es" in "Atreides" seems to be silent. |
