"first love, only love" a young man with pale complection and ethereal white hair smiled, beckoning the girl following him. "it's not too much farther." the girl, more tanned and with long brown hair, livened her pace to catch up. "sig, what's so important that we have to come up here before dawn?" his smile broadened but he didn't answer her question. instead, he took her hand and continued to lead her through the forest. just as she was starting to looser her patience with his mysteriousness, they came around a bend in the path to a large overhang. "i-it's beautiful," she stammered in amazement. the sun was just starting to rise above the treetops, and from their vantage point they watched light spill out across the land. the clouds in the sky were just perfect, catching each shade from deep pink to gold. the boy watched her expression as she took in the sight. he'd watched the sunrise from this place a hundred different times, but it was a whole new joy to see another's reaction to such a beauty, especially when that person meant so much to him. she turned an looked into his eyes with the sweetest smile. "thank you, sig," she whispered, "it's so beautiful, i -" he kissed her softly on the lips. "i had to share it with you," he replied, "i love you so much..." if a unicorn could cry, sigfried would have wept an ocean of tears. every sunrise he thinks of her. every little thing still reminds him of her, and the loss he'd felt for so long. there were so many things he still wanted to share with her, so much they could never know. his family would have liked her, he felt certain of that, yet they would never have the chance to meet her because of one thing. it was not her fault, but his, and yet they were both cursed by that mistake. he must wed a different pure maiden now, to return to his home, but he has no will to do so. he has already loved and lost once, how could he ever do that again? how could he ever want another?
