"The Sugar Deal Act 2" (Radat) Shu watched Richond leave. Shu smiled. He then walked to the sluice gate. He wanted to take a walk to order his thoughts. Basically, he needed Amada. If he could get Amada to help him he could get the sailors to lower their price, keeping his profit stable. Unfortunately, Amada always demanded any favor be preceded with a duel. Amada required a demonstration of strength. Well, Shu was going to need some help with this. He was not a physical man. And that was why he was now waiting for Richmond to find a warrior. It was about an hour later when Richmond finally found Shu. Richomond smiled and flipped his coin in the air. Shu frowned. "I got your info," Richmond said with a gleam in his shifty little eyes. "Uh huh?" Shu asked patiently. "Well, there's this guy and this chick at the inn. They're on their way to the Kobold Village, just they don't have a way to Lakewest." Shu raised his eyebrows. "And this man is a warrior?" "They're from the Warrior's Village in the Toran Republic." Shu thought to himself. The Warrior Village trained excellant warriors. In the Gate Rune War (Suik 1) one of the generals, Flik was from there. He heard rumors about Flik the Blue Lightning. He was famous throughout the world. Something always interested Shu about Flik. "Anyway, Shu their names are Hix and Tengaar. Tengaar wants Hix to be a TRUE warrior. I think they love each other though." "Thank you Richmond," Shu said. Richmond stuck his palm out. Shu opened his pouch and deposited one 100 potch piece into Richmond's hand. He smiled, flipped his coin and wondered off. Shu decided to meet this Hix. He began his walk to the Inn. He began to think about Flik again. Apparently his sword was called Odessa. Now, Mathiu's little sister's name was Odessa. Mathiu... he still felt betrayed after all these years. When he heard Mathiu had died his reaction had surprised himself. He felt sad. There never would be any reconcilliation. Their friendship had ended that day and that was it. Shu looked down. He had had enough looking back. Mathiu had banished him. End of story. He was in buisness for himself now. He, himself was his true friend. Shu entered the inn. It was kinda busy. People were drinking, relaxing. It was a soothing environrment. Perfect, exactly what he wanted. Some buisness deals required a tense atmosphere. For this one a smooth, comforting enviorment was better. Shu took one look at the room. There could be no question as to who was Hix and who was Tengaar. Hix looked an okay warrior. He could tell by his bearing that he was a veteran soldier. Possibly he had fought with Flik in the Gate Rune War. Shu approached the table, happy in knowing that he had indeed found a warrior. Now Hix was not threating at all, though. Tengaar looked more threating. There was some gentleness about Hix, but also fierce resolve. Shu could see there was much more to this young warrior. "Hello, I hear you two are trying to get to Lakewest?" "Yes," the lady said. "I'm Tengaar and this is Hix." Shu looked at her. "I have a friend in Kuskus. I could get a ship to take you." "Uh, if you don't mind me asking, why are you helping us?" Hix asked watching Shu's reaction. Shu kept his round the clock cool. This Hix was a shrewd one. He had true potential. If the legends about warriors from the Warrior's Village were true he would proably beat Amada. "Well, you see I need a little favor." "We're listening," Tengaar said. Hix turned to Tengaar, "Ten..." "Shhh, Hix," Tengaar said inturupting him. "Well, you see there's this sailor in town," Shu began. "He likes to see displays of strenghth. If you can beat him in a 1 on 1 duel. I'll talk to my friend in Kuskus." Hix paused. Shu could tell that it sounded too easy to him. "Do you have some kind of stake in this?" Hix asked. "I will not lie to you, I will profit if you win. If you lose, I'm none the poorer." "Hix isn't going to lose!" Tengaar shouted. "Uh, Tengaar I don't know..." Tengaar punched him in the shoulder. "Listen Hix a warrior must be able to demonstrate his courage and skills." Hix rubbed his shoulder. "Owww, Tengaar that hurt!!" Shu suddenly got the impression maybe he had misjudged Hix as the TRUE warrior.
