Ruka Interlude 1
"Dagan Blight"
(L'Renouille)

"Ruka! Dagan! Dinner!"

The boys looked at the entrance to the castle's dining room. Their mother were standing right outside of it. She waved at them and smiled right before she entered back into the dining room to cater to her husband, the King, Agares Blight.

The boys were playing in the garden right ouside the dining room. The garden had a lot of bushes custom-cut into cute, furry animals. They have squirrel shaped bushes, rabbit shaped bushes and even a bush of a squirrel with a cape. They loved to play out here. If not to look at the clouds, they'd search for bugs. Ruka in particular loved to do this. He was always amazed at a bug's life. He'd just lied down on the ground, looking at a group of ants, working to build up their ant hill. Dagan however, is another matter. Sometimes, Dagan would attempt to stomp onto the bugs who were trying to scurry into their habitats, or dowse those bugs out of their habitat if they succeeded into retreating to that in the first place. Of course, none of these attempt ever succeed. Ruka was always there to stop him. His mean-spirited twin brother would then see the errors of his ways and marvelled at the bugs along with Ruka.

They both looked at each other and rushed over to the dining room. Hoping to eat one of their mother's cooking, which was a rarity, because the Queen hardly ever do cook. They have, after all, hired people to do that. But once in a while, their mother would just grab an apron and cooked a meal for them, helping out in the kitchen along with the cooks and the maids.

They barged into the dining room and hopped onto their seats, looking almost like a jackrabbit, hopping out of their holes onto the surface of the earth. Their father looked at them amusingly and playfully joked to be careful, or they'll never live to succeed him. Their mother hit the King playfully at this remark saying that he shouldn't be so graphical with the children. She then turned towards the children and cleaned up their smudgy, dirt worn faces.

The food came. Sadly, it wasn't their mother's cooking. It was someone else's. They took their food and was just about to eat until Ruka noticed that Dagan got the small piece of the Chicken in his plate. Ruka motioned towards Dagan and gave half of his chicken to Dagan. Dagan smiled at Ruka and they both eat their dinners heartilly.

After dinner, they both went out to the garden to play again. Their father and mother both looked at the two twin brothers playing.

"Ahhh... we are blessed with such joy, to have two very sweet and kind sons." the King remarked.

"And soon to have another." said the Queen, and smiled at the King while holding his arm tight.

The King was almost shocked by this revelation. Another child? Oh, what merriment. That night they had a party to celebrate this joyous news. Ruka and Dagan were both there as well, though they know not of the reason why such a celebration was held, but to them, a moment of happiness for their parents was enough.

They were both tired after the party. The King had a meeting with the Highland commitee, so the Queen had to tucked the twins in. The mother turned off the lights and whispered quietly.

"Good night, my Princes."
