"Revelation" (Forest around the Wind Cave) The dawn sun lazily began to paint the landscape of South Window with a brilliant sea of gold's and crimsons, as yet another new day dawned upon the land. People were just awakening in their houses, shops were opening, innkeepers were preparing breakfast for their guests, and all was right with the world, for most that is. In a small forest not far from the Wind Cave, Pesmerga lay unconcious, dead tired and badly wounded from his long battle with Yuber. The black armor he had once proudly worn both as a Harmonian guard and as a vengeful knight hunting his betrayer was shredded, his upper body completely exposed and the lower half of the armor badly mangled. His helmet was also gone, and his sword was coated in chips and cracks all along the once brilliant silver blade. The Rage rune on the sword had a huge crack running down the middle of it, it was worthless now. His raven black hair was dishevled and matted to his face in a coat of sweat, the bangs covering his intense grey eyes. His body had a large cut running down the middle of his chest, and another on his left shoulder, his body covered in small flecks blood and sweat, both his and Yuber's. His breath came in short, somewhat labored gasps..no..there was no peacful rest for him..not even now. Not even after he had fought the man he had hunted for over five centuries..the man who had betrayed him...his family..and his country. The man who had violated his younger sister. Pesmerga finally began to come to his senses..awakend by the sound of chirping birds and the gentle babbling of a nearby stream. His eyes blinked a few times, as the landscape fell before him in blurry globs..slowly coming into focus. Stretching his aching, fatigued muscles, the dark knight sat up and looked around, drinking in every detail of his surroundings. Noticing he was in a forest, he started to sit up, but the weakness in his legs betrayed him, and he fell to his knees with a dull thud. Pesmerga dug his hands in the dirt, balling up wads of earth and grass under his palm. "Exactly where I should be," he remarked bitterly, " as lowly as the dirt. I failed..I finally caught up to Yuber..and I was not strong enough." Tears began to stream down his face in rivers, his body wracked by his constant sobbing. "I...i'm sorry mother..father...I..I..i'm...sorry..Tanya...I failed ...I failed you all.." Biting his lip hard enough to draw up a dot of blood, Pesmerga flung his head skywards, with tears pouring down his ashen face, and cried out as loud as he could, pouring out the years of pent up agony within his soul. His cries of sorrow awakend the last few sleeping birds and they took off into the air, screeching as they went, filling the forest with the sounds of their retreat. Pesmerga dropped to his belly, sobbing uncontrollably.. unable to deny his emotions..,his agony, any longer. "God i'm so useless! I could not avenge my family! I wish Yuber had killed me! I wish I could finally die and be with my family!! Damn you Yuber! DAMN ALL OF YOU!!!!!!" Pesmerga dug his fingernails into the ground..uprooting a few blades of grass, then began to pound his fists on the earth. What had he done all this for? All the centuries of searching..all the time he spent looking..fighting..training for the battle, yearning to taste Yuber's fear.. pleading for that sweet repose that death would offer upon both their demises. He had lived only for killing Yuber..yet he had failed. His life was a waste..he had finally found the object of his desire..his revenge. and he had been to weak to avenge himself or his family. He was trash...useless..no good..devoid of worth. He could hear Yuber's vile laughter all throughout the battle,at the end as he casted that spell that sent him here, that damned laughter echoed through his head. thought it's owner was not here it still taunted him threatend to drive him mad!! "Father...what do I do..I have failed you..failed everyone..I dont know if i can face Yuber again..i'll probably just lose once again. No matter how hard I prepare myself..he will probably be even stronger..and it may take me forever just to find him again. What do I do?" At that moment, Pesmerga felt something press down on his bare shoulder..and it seemed to calm the churning in his soul a bit, but it also alarmed him. Spinning around, he swung his fist out into the open air, landing hard on his butt. When he looked up..what he saw startled the holy wits out of him. Impossible as it was to beleive..the person who was before him..was his father!! Kahlran looked down at his son, Pesmerga, and though he smiled outwardly..inside he was full of sorrow at the sight of how his son tortured himself now and all these long years. "Pesmerga," he began," you are not to blame for what happend to me..or your mother..or little Tanya. It is all Yuber's doing. Please stop torturing yourself son." Pesmerga looked up at his father, tears still staining his face. "But...but father..I...I have tried to avenge all of you..I waited all this time for my chance to fight Yuber..and I failed..I.." he had to cut himself short and choke down another sob..still wondering how his father was standing before him. "Son," Kahlran began." I may be here only in spirit..but please listen to me..okay?" Pesmerga nodded. "Son..listen. I'm here to talk to you from beyond the grave to offer you enocuragement. You need to stay vigilant in your fight against Yuber. But..son..before you face him again..you need to begin fighting for what you know is right. That will give you the strength to face him. You failed to defeat Yuber because of your uncontrolled rage and bitterness..and your own hatred of yourself. If you would finally accept your emotions..accept yourself son..and fight for what you know to be right, you will find the strength you need to defeat Yuber when you face him again." Pesmerga blinked away the tears..utterly speechless...here was his dead father..talking to him from the grave..telling him to stop looking for Yuber for now and instead fight for justice?? "But...but father..I need strength too..Yuber was too strong for me..even if I do as you say..I'm still too." Kahlran cut his son off. "No Pesmerga..you have greater power than you know son. It's time I told you the truth son..about you..and your true power..true origins." Pesmerga was confused..what did his father mean? "Father...I don't understand..what do you mean?" Kahlran sighed. "Pesmerga...I'm sorry I never told you this before but..." Pesmerga held his breath..waiting for his father to finish. "Son...you're half Sindar."
