"Tears of the Sky, Screams of the Dying" All around him... the screams..the cries of agony and pain.. streams of blood pouring like rivers down the fields.. the twisted faces of the dead and groans of the dying. Suddenly..a dark flash.. a shadowy figure..YUBER!..no.. it can't be.. he's too strong..no...go away.. No..noo....NOOO!!!!! Pesmerga shot up with cold sweat pouring down his face, his raven hair clinging to his skin as if in a vise. He slipped the gauntlets from his hands and rose from the damp grass of the small hill he had chosen as a resting place for the night. "That same dream..again.." he said, as he walked to the stream close to the hill and removed his helmet.. exposing his face , in a rare instant, to the moonlit night sky. Pesmerga's eyes were a deep, eerie grey, reflecting the plae shade of the moon as he bent down and splashed water onto his face, soaking his raven black hair in the process. He didn't care..physical things had lost nearly all meaning to him scince the 'incident' five-hundred years ago. But one thing in the physical world still haunted him..that dream..that damned dream! "Why Yuber.. why did you have to betray him? Betray me? Is power that important?" He walked back to his bed and sat down on the grass, sliding on his gauntlets. The dream had started a month after the Gate Rune war.. images of Yuber and his betrayal mixed with all the wars and deaths he had been exposed to in his search for the object of his revenge. "Damnit Yuber..if I have to chase you to hell I will find you and kill you!! We will both rot together in the blackest pits of eternal damnation! I will not be denied!" Thankful that the dreams only occured rarely, shockingly brutal though they were, and went back to his tortured sleep. In the morning, as the sun shone brightly over the plains of Muse, Pesmerga rose. He gatherd his things and began the long trek to Muse once again. He would find Yuber..oh yes.. he would find him, it was only a matter of time before the day of reckoning they had before them would come to pass. He treked through the plains and knolls of the country-side, slaying monsters as he went. He was thankful for the monsters, which gave him a steady flow of cash..he had given all of his money to the girl he saved in South Window City..and besides, he never used the trading posts or worked a job, so killing monsters was the only way he could make any money, and money would be necassary to find Yuber. Finally, after a long day of trekking, he stopped for the night, to rest. Pesmerga sat by the small fire he had lit and held a stick skewered through some rabbit meat over it. He began to think as he waited for his meal to be finished. Why would Yuber desire such power? He couldn't steal the Beast Rune or Runes of the Gate.. nor could he get his hands on the Soul Eater. What could he be after now? Pesmerga brought the meat to his lips and began to eat his meal, still thinking about Yuber's plans. Then..it struck him.. Yuber must be after something in Highland! He would most likely stop in at Muse to get new supplies, then continue north to Highland. But even someone as isolated as Pesmerga knew you couldn't just waltz into Highland, they had several border garrisons and were very protective of travellers, as they rarely let anyone in or out of their kingdom. But if anyone could sneak in..it would be Yuber. So Pesmerga knew what to do next, stop in at Muse.. then head straight for Highland! He rose to follow Yuber and continued to Muse.. with images of his old friend and the horrores he had seen still screaming through his mind. Pesmerga heard thunder in the distance, as rain began to fall on him, spilling to the ground in small rivers off his armor. It was as-if the sky wept for him, or maybe for Yuber, despite his foolishness and evil hearted rebellion...or perhaps the sky wept for the world, which may not survive their fateful meeting. Pesmerga knew not which, nor did he care. All he cared for was the loving embrace of death, and to hear the screams of Yuber as he lay impaled on King Crimson. "Now ... to find you.. Yuber.. and to get my revenge!" The darkness enveloped Pesmerga like the maw of a hungry beast, as he set out to fullfill his destiny.
