Mukumuku Chapter 3

All he remembered was hitting the ground. He was in a bed. A human bed. And smelled a very nice something, probably the person who took him in preparing his meal (he didn't know what time of day it was). He was still weak, and he was very hungry. How long had he been asleep? Who could tell? Slowly, a large man walked in. "Hi, my name is Badeax, what is yours?" he asked kindly. "MukuMuku," spoke my, forgetting that only squirrels could understand him. "Ahh, MukuMuku," he said, "arn't you the squirrel that defeated that dark squirrel?" "Ye- HOW CAN YOU UNDERSTAND ME!!!" said Muku witha jerk. "REST! My friend. I can understand you because I, being the animal lover and freind that I am, have a hearing ear rune," said Badeax. Yes, MukuMuku had heard about those, a rune that some humans had so they can speak to and understand animals. "What happened?" Muku asked. "Well, I went out, and I saw you in the forrest. So I nursed you back to health, and you have been sleeping here for about 5 days ever since," spoke Badeax. "Wow, 5 days. But I was beat," Mu spoke, recalling what had happened. "In that time, I contacted your family, for I immeadiately new who and what you are when I saw you," he said, hoping to lift the feeble squirrels spirits. Suddenly, MukuMuku was out of bed. "My freind, rest, you are still weak," said Badeax. This was true, and Mu was already dizzy from the effort it took to stand. So he got back on the bed.

A week later, MukuMuku was fine. Badeax had helped him and he was feeling great. MukuMuku had explained what had happened to him, and Badeax was intuiged by his story, mostly by the fact that everything was crystal clear to MukuMuku, except for the words (MukuMuku did not talk about his future, for he had forgotten it). During dinner that night, a loud knock was heard. "Wonder who it is. Don't get many visitors here," he said, and walked over to the door, grapping his wip on the way. MukuMuku couldn't see, but heard Badeax saying "YES! Come in, he will be glad to see you." Badeax walked back in, and following him were six squirrels. HIS FAMILY!!!! "HI!!!!" yelled his family in unison. "We are all very proud of you, son, and to show how proud of you we are, and how glad we are that you are alive, we give you these. We were going to wait until the day you were crowned king, but why wait. So here they are!" his father said, in an ecstacy of pride and happiness. His father handed him a Rage Cloak (refer to Ch1), and a Squirrel Mail (refer to Ch1). "And son, we know how good of a fighter you are, seeing as you trained in fighting your whole life, so we all got the best forger in the Squirreldom to make you this, the Squirrel Claws, a set of two VERY powerful claw weapons. When you make a fist for 2 seconds, then open your hand fully, VERY quickly, a bolt will shoot out and SEVERELY hurt your enemies, and temporairoly parolize them, the Squirrel Claws are also VERY sharp, thugh they need to be taken to a blacksmith," his father said this, then took in a deep breath. "And I got you this rage rune to embed into it. I also embedded Squirrel Claw into the claws. So, whaddaya think?" his mother asked, livingly. MukuMuku just sat there in shock, but eventually replied, "Mom, Dad, and brothers. I cannot express my joy right now. I have gotten many wonderful presents, and I have gotten to see you. Thank you for coming, but I know how busy you are. Go back to Squirkamonga, but leave me here. Let me explore the world, PLEASE!" "If that is what you want, then so be it," replied his father, "but remember, at any squirrel village, especially Squirkamonga, you will always have a place to stay." "BYE!!!!!" yelled his family, and with that they left. MukuMuku missed them, but he wanted to explore. "You better be goin' ta bed," said Badeax, "I have someone else I want you too meet tomarrow."

In the morning, Badeax was not in his cabin. He did not come back until around mid noon, but when he did, he had a stranger with him. He was older, but looked stong and skillful. This was the first person he had seen, other than Badeax, in the cabin. "Meet Long-Chan-Chan, a master of the Long-style martial arts. I hired him for a month to train and work with you," said Badeax. Long-Chan-Chan grunted.

For the next month, Long-Chan-Chan and MukuMuku trained very hard, though speaking little. But on the last day, Long-Chan-Chan said, "You are a very good fighter, and have learned what takes some years to learn in a month. I would give you a Whit Tiger Rune, but have none. Sorry. But as a gift, I will give you this very rare, and valuable, Manipulation Rune. It can convince people things, ANYTHING, except for the impossible, or something like language, you cannot convimce someone that they can understand you, so that the will understand you. You control how long it lasts, BUT REMEMBER TO END MANIPULATIONS! But the strong of will or mind can, though it is VERY difficult, sometimes resist it. I just tell you this: do not use it on me. But it does come in handy in shops and the sort, you can convince a merchant that someone that whatever you want is free, though you have to watch out for magic nullifying feilds. It is a gracios gift, but I like you. May our paths meet again, soon," said Long-Chan-Chan, with a hint of regret in his voice. "Oh yeah, you can ask Badeax to encrave it for you, I think he has a master rune engraver kit or somethin. SEE YA, SQUIRRLY GUY!!!" And with that, Long-Chan-Chan left, but Muku truly DID hope that he would cross paths withh Long-Chan-Chan again. Badeax walked to where he was and said, "Well, I think you are ready to leave." MukuMuku replied, "I will miss you." "Don't feel bad, it is just time for you to move on," said Badeax, with a hint of remorse in his voice. "Oh yeah, on the way out, Long-Chan-Chan told me to engrave a rune into your forehead. Just follow me." So after the rune was engraved, Badeax told MukuMuku to visit, gave hima Suiko map that he had gotton from templeton, told him to visit, and said goodbuy to MukuMuku. MukuMuku flew to a nearby village, and went into the blacksmiths shop. "Uhh, hello little fella," said a burly fellow sitting behind an anvil, "what can I do for you today." First, testing out his manipulation rune, and convinced the man that to aharpen a weapon to Level 16 (the sharpest possible), it was free, and that to embed runes, it was free. The darned gift really worked! How handy. But he shouldn't abuse it, and he needed to keep it a secret to merchants and people, that way they don't know they are being manipulated, so they don't set up anti-magic feilds, and so they don't ban him from their establishments. Oh well, what is important now is the buisiness at hand. So, in his manipulated state, the blacksmithh sharpened Muku's Squirrel Claws (the weapon) all the way to Level 16, ad embeded the rage rune his mother had given him, all for FREE! Oh the POWER of the manipulation rune, it truly had been a good gift. He would have to repay Long-Chan-Chan one day. So he flew away. "Oh yeah," he thought too himself in mid-flight, "end manipulation."

That blacksmith, coming out of his manipulated state, was VERY angry for the rest of his life, claiming he could have been rich, but was in a daze when a flying squirrel came in and got a TON of moneys worth of stuff for free (obviously he hadn't seen the Manipulation rune on Mu's forehead, and didn't see the Manipulation rune glowing as MukuMuku had put him into the manipulated status).
