Delta Sisters Desu!! The young girl, in her blue attire and oversized beret, was admittedly exhausted. Millie had managed to lose Bonaparte in the undergrowth again and, having chased the adorable creature with such reckless abandon since she had arrived at the dock in Banner Village, had managed to lose herself as well. The forest was unfamiliar, there was no visible path in the collection of dead leaves and twigs which littered the ground in a haphazardous pattern. Trees, stumps, moss, bark, it all seemed the same. Travelling forward felt like travelling backwards, or at least in circles, as the terrain kept repeating itself, never feeling the need or urge to reveal the subtle differences each scene had from the last. Furthermore, the Highlander of barely fourteen years of age felt the ache of the feet she carried trapped within the white and dark blue cell, a necessary protection, she knew, but she paid the price for the simple fact that it was matching with the rest of her clothing. Her choice of attire, the sleeveless light-dark blue top, the short skirt of the same color, the blue-white arm covers and the oversized white beret, was not one of need, but one of want. She had seen the dress at the Kyaro Town tailor and instantly fell in love with it, much to do with the fact that her mother would have a heart attack if she saw her wearing anything that wasn't 'Highlandish conservative', not unlike the formal dress of the Princess Bright. Regardless, as she moved further and further south, she was glader and glader of her less protective choice of clothes. Millie could feel the warmth and heat intensify as she travelled away from the high recluse of her mountain home. It wasn't the least bit comfortable but she was glad for her short skirt... but still had little love for her shoes. "The price we pay for novelty, I guess..." she resigned, lifting her feet higher and higher as the undergrowth grew more and more of an obstacle. She imagined the prospect of a snake in the tall grass beneath her and shuddered. It wasn't one of the things she cherished the most and the young girl began to wonder if the snakes here at least made rattling noises when annoyed. *rattle* Millie nearly jumped out of her skin, a rattle! Perhaps there were snakes, maybe she intimidated one of them by walking in the tall grass. She was frightened, nonetheleast, of the thought of a nestful of the angry creatures chasing her through the woods. *rattle-rattle* What can I do?! The sounds were multiplying, there seemed to be more rattles, or the one rattle was becoming faster as the snake probably became quicker. Millie wanted to scream for help but knew that it may draw even more unwanted attention to her. It seemed best to stay where she was, make no sudden movement and stay absolutely quie... "Delta Sisters desu!" Millie shot a glance to her side. There, amidst the trees, were three women, no more than twenty years of age each, wearing chongsams and wielding staves. She stared at them wide-eyed and promptly shushed them. Such a commotion would surely draw the attention of the massive amount of snakes in the immediate area. "How rude!" one of the three huffed, giving a hurt look. "Yes, let's teach her a lesson!" another griped. "W-wait! We have to finish our introduction first!" the last hiped. "Ichi-ni-san!" Each of the three sisters lept into the air, launched themselves off a tree, twirled their staffs and met one another in midair. Together, in a display of superb acrobatic skill and dextrousity, they landed side by side, not unlike the position they had just left when Millie first saw them. If this was meant to impress her, it failed miserably. "To protect the birds and the bees,"
Millie could help but stare, dumbfoundedly, at the three women. In a normal circumstance she would have burst into laughter but this was different, there was a nest of snakes around somewhere. "Keep it down!" she hissed at them through clenched teeth. The Delta Sisters were not used to this responce, usually people ran away from them in terror or fear... either that or they would beat them up for being so annoying. This, however, was not one of the things they knew how to handle. The complete ignorance, the discourtesy, it shocked them to the core and they couldn't let it pass, they would handle this one for her arrogance. "How dare you treat the Delta Sisters that way, girl!" RinRin exclaimed, her fist clenched in the air. "Yeah, we'll beat you to a pulp now with our Delta attack!" RanRan added, her eyes flaring with hurt pride. "C'mon sister's let's do it!" TenTen urged, getting her staff into position. "SHUT UP!!" Millie screamed, finally turning to them with an unclasped boomerang. She had had enough of their bickering, whining, complaining and, worst of all, noise. Couldn't they see she was in the middle of a potential nest of snakes... *Ekans* "EEEEkkk!" the Highlander yelped, quickly moving behind the Delta Sisters who had too ceased all movement, staring gapingly at the source of the noise. As Millie had feared, it was a snake... however, this wasn't like any snake she had seen before. With a length of, at least, fifty or so feet and a width bigger than Millie herself, the snake was an enormously large entity of gigantic proportions. Where it touched the ground many other small snakes reared their heads together with it. Large sweatdrops formed on each of the four girls' heads. "AAAAHHHH!!" they all gave yell. "Sayonara!"
The three ran off, escaping into the trees, getting as far away as they could from the giant purple snake. Only Millie was left standing, her eyes alive with terror, too frozen to move even her legs to allow herself to escape. Beating faster than normal, louder than normal, the pumping of her heart clouded her mind, echoing itself in her mind, growing louder and louder and louder, never quite reaching a cresendo but intensifying her fear. *Ekans* That was it, the boost she needed, just listening to the giant thing speak was enough for her. Picking up her feet, forgetting the pain her shoes bore her, she raced through the forest, weaving from tree to tree, bush to bush, never looking back and not wanting to either. The more she ran the better, the farther she ran the better, the faster she ran the better. All Millie wanted to do was get far far away from the gargantuan purple snake. The forest seemed to go forever, shrubbery, greenery, bark, leaves, plants, trees, everywhere. There was no rest for Millie, there was no way she was going to stop as long as the thought of a fifty foot snake chasing her remained within. She would not stop until she saw some sign of civilization. There! A house, a group of houses! Just what she needed! She would stop there and seek protection from the snake and what other strange creatures this wood contained. After that she would continue her search for Bonaparte, perhaps he had stopped in the town too? Maybe he was there, maybe she could accomplish two tasks at once. Reaching a wooden house, she came to a halt and leaned against it. She was panting hard and mist was forming as she exhaled. She felt as if she had just climbed a mountain, and indeed it felt like a mountain, the temperature was changed and... mist was forming from her breath?? If she had climbed a mountain, she would have known. Risking a glance towards the woods, she was relieved that the snake was no longer there. Adjusting her beret and creasing down her skirt, Millie straightened and knocked on the door of the wooden house. The door creaked open and a wrinkly old woman opened it. Her attire was very strange, there was a scarf around her neck and her clothing had many folds to it, if not many layers as well. It seemed an unusual style for an elderly woman to be wearing, not to mention it was something Millie just had to acquire, it would make a great addition to her wardrobe collection, which was now in the bag she dragged by her side. "Good afternoon... ma'am..." Millie huffed, "But... I was running from a snake and I'm looking for a beady-eyed yellow freckled groundhog named Bonaparte and... where'd you get such lovely clothes? I must meet this town's tailor..." Millie's eyes wandered around the town, which had the appearance of being abandoned. It was a very quiet, moody place, she admitted, somewhere she could never really get used to. Returning her gaze to the senior citizen, she flashed a wide, innocent smile at the local. "A STRANGER! A SPY!!" the woman shrieked, drawing from one of the many folds a pouch of dust which she flung at Millie's eyes. For a second the young Highlander couldn't see, then all went dark.
