"By the Book" (Muse) I woke up bright and early the next morning to see no grauds in site. I checked out of the inn and I started to walk over to the runemasters shop. I peered in to see that the sign still on the door. "Damn it" I thought "I'm suppose to be heading toward Coronet town, but I can't leave here till I see what runes this place has" Mina and Momo rested on my shoulders. "What are we gonna do till it opens!" I cried. Momo ignored me. I sat down on the steps and started to think "I wonder if this shop has any rare runes, I so badly want a Rage rune" Mina sat on my lap. A lady walked up the steps and asked me what I was doing. "I'm waiting for the Rune shop to open up" I said "But so far the person has not shown up" The lady pulled out a key and opened the door. She had on a large black cloak and her eyes looked cold and unbalanced. I followed her in. "What can I do for you miss" she asked. I looked at her "I'd like to know if you had any rare runes for sale?" She looked at me "One moment miss, I'll have to go to the back room and check out what we have" As she left the room, I checked to see if I had all my things, I pulled out my map and started to pinpoint my next where abouts. With Momo asleep on my shoulders, Mina had escaped from my bag. I looked around the room trying to find Mina. I saw her chasing a mouse around the store. "Oh no, Mina stop!" I cried. Mina had knocked over tables and destroyed many runes while chasing that damn mouse. I tried to grab her as quickly as I could, but then Momo jumped off my shoulders and then knocked over a lamp and a few runes. As the women walk back into the room she saw that her store was a mess. There were lots of glass runes shattered into millions of pieces and lots of table and books on the floor. "What is the meaning of this! How dare you destroy my humble shop! That's it I'm calling the State guards!" Screamed the owner. I looked at her "I'm really sorry, I never meant to destroy your wonderful shop, honest. One of my cats started chasing a mouse that was in your store, and then by accident destroyed your shop" I explained "If you'd like I'll clean your store up for, just please don't turn me in to the State guards! I only came here to buy one of your Rare Runes" She looked at me "If you clean my store up, I'll then deal with what rune you wanted, but because most for them are destroyed, I can only sell you the ones in the back room" I looked at her and hung my head low. "You can start by picking up every piece of glass on the floor, and putting them into this bag" she yelled "And please tell me what your name is?" I looked at her and replied that my name was Lotte. "Lotte eh? My name is Cyra and I own this once beautiful rune shop" I looked at her and listened to every word she had said (But what I really wanted to do was just clean up and leave). As she left the room, I began to clean up all the glass. I looked at my cats "Thanks a lot you two, now I'm cleaning your mess" My cats looked at me and continued to lick their paws. After I completed the first job, I was then told to pick up all the tables and place them back where they were suppose to go. As she directed me I started to place the tables back, in there proper places. I ended up trying to lift this one table instead it collapsed on me. "Little help" I cried. Cyra rushed over to me and lifted the table off me. She then smacked me in the head. "Oww what was that for" I asked. "For trying to destroy this antique table, you have to be more careful Lotte, because accidents don't just happen" Cyra said. I looked at her and thought "That table looks like a hunk of junk" She looked at me and gave me my next job. My next job was to restock the runes in the case and then go clean up all the books that were on the floor. I started to place the books in order, by colour. Cyra looked at me "You place the books in order by author, not by colour, and don't like rushed jobs" I looked at her and took all the books off the shelves. I then placed them in order, by author. After that job, I walked in the back room to pick up the cases of runes. I then walked slowly toward the giant case that was in the middle of the room. Mina walked slowly around me; she started to rub against my clothing. I started to laugh, but I also tried to keep my balance. "Mina hee, stop Mina, ha please stop! Please stop" "I laughed. I had no choice but to kick her out of the way. I took my foot and slowly nudged her away. I almost fell over, but in the nick of time regained my balance. I walked over to the case and began to restock the rune case. Cyra then walked into the room to inspect the job I did. "Looks very nice, Lotte…no mistakes or anything. I'm very happy that you took your punishment well" she said "So now we can do business, what would you like Lotte?" I walked over to the case to see the rare runes that she had. I taken a lot of thought, I'd like that one" I said while pointing to the Rage rune. "A Rage rune eh? Okay then I'll sell it to you for 3000p, since you did such a good job cleaning the store" I looked at my wallet and handed her the money. "Thank you, Lotte" she said. I looked at her "Well I'd best be on my way" I told her. She looked at me and told me to also take this. I looked at what she gave me. It was a set of Winged Boots. "Cyra I can't take this, I almost destroyed your store" Cyra looked at me "You deserve them, you clean up my store and you were honest about what had happened, I think they can help you, now run off Lotte, you still have more adventures to embark in" I looked at Cyra and hugged her. Then a few moments later I was off to Coronet Town. I waved to Cyra and then exited the city. I looked back once more at Muse and then headed off. Along the way I had stopped at a near by tree to record today's events. Date: unknown I quickly finished the entry and then looked at the road ahead. In the horizon was Coronet Town, where my next adventure would take place.
