Lily Chapter 1
(Tinto)
Another day the Sun shone Gloriously. Another day to be
loved. Just another
day. Things do get better…eventually.
After reading another 3 chapters of “runes a beginners guide” lily fell
asleep. She awoke when the rays of sun had shone on her long enough to
warm her face to an unsettling temperature.
“Stupid Shutter!” Lily Yelled, “I thought I closed you last night!”
and without moving just by her sheer will the shutters closed.
Lily was a wreck this morning just like any other. But there was a bright
side to today; she would be accompanying her father on a journey to Two
River to meet with Mayor Makai of the district. This would mean a journey
through Tigermout and Drakemout Villages. Although she thought lowly of
the inhabitants of the area, it was her duty to treat them with respect,
as she
wouldn’t like the position of Mayor falling to the hands of Marlowe:
she considered him much too weak, even weaker than she would be if she
obtained that authority.
Yawning, Lily stretched her childish body, from the slumber it was still
a part of…
Lily dressed herself then proceeded to her father’s bed quarters…
“Oh…” lily Cried,
“…Silly Daddy, wake up…”she continued.
“…You clumsy fool!”
She giggled
“…Daddy…heee hee heeee!” she cried as she turned him over in bed.
Lily began to worry
“…. Daddy?”
Her tone grew serious
“…Daddy, wake up it isn’t funny anymore”.
She cried. She poked and prodded him like a cow. She grabbed him by
his nightrobe.
“DADDY DON’T LEAVE ME LIKE MOTHER DID!!!” she yelled at him, shaking
him violently, her pain evident in her cry.
What lily didn’t know was that Gustav was “Holidaying”…
Gustav was Dead.
Fear turned to thought, and instinct took over.
Lily knew her father to be a heavy sleeper. So she decided to do one
last thing before calling a maid to attend to her father.
Lily quashed her tiny hand over gustav’s nose and mouth.
A sudden movement, and quietness was disrupted, Lilly was pushed aside.
Gustav had risen.
Gustav blinked, trying to adjust to the excess light. Regaining his
whereabouts, he saw his beloved daughter at the foot of his bed.
“Dear Child what in God’s name are you trying to do to me!”
Lilly blinked. Blood rushed to her face, the rage making her heart
race.
Now a neat shade of crimson, she spoke.
Gustav was sneezing from the light
“What I was trying to do, father, was to once again accomplish the
seemingly more complex and impossible task of awakening you from those
deep slumbers you engage yourself in. frankly, WHAT IN GODS NAME ARE YOU
TRYING TO DO TO
ME!!!!!”
Lilly turned away.
“You know, you put so much stress on me. I don’t like it how you disregard
My feelings. It’s all about you and never about me! You know, every morning
I wake you like this, I think the worst. First mother, then Erin…I don’t
want to loose anyone else. I don’t want to be alone. I don’t want to loose
you.”
Gustav blushed. A rare occurrence. If anyone could make him see the
errors of his ways, it was Lilly.
“My dear child, I don’t want you to feel this way... How can I make
this up to you?”
Lilly blinked. She had grown accustomed to Gustav’s plea-bargaining.
It was the best she’d get out of him. But this time, she wanted something
different…
After a time of pondering, a decision was made.
“Dad, I want to go to South Window. I heard it’s very nice. I want
you to come with me.”
“Oh, okay then, we’ll bring along Marlowe and….”
“NO. Not this time dad. Just you and I.”
“Oh…okay darling”
The silence was deafening.
Lilly Spoke first.
“So Daddy, seeing as you’ll be late to that meeting, would you like
me to tell a maid to find someone to tell Makai you won’t be going?”
“Sure, that’d be… lovely Lilly.”
“Good. That’s settled then.” Lilly announced.
“FAYE!!!!” Lilly cried
A seemingly docile maid appeared at the door in an instance.
“Yes Lady Lilly?” Faye questioned.
“Faye, can you find someone to send word to Lord Makai that my father
will not be attending the proposed meeting for this afternoon? As you can
see my father is unwell.”
“Sure thing Ms Lilly!”
Faye disappeared as quickly as she appeared.
“Lilly, why did you tell Faye I was sick?”
“Well, father, I believe it is time you took a holiday. It’s in your
best interest. When we return, we’ll go to south window. In the meantime,
go to sleep. If you need anything, I’m here. If you need something, call
the maids. Okay?”
Gustav blinked. His daughter was a walking schedule motor mouth, just
like his wife.
“Sure princess”
Lilly smiled, and then exited the room, closing the door behind her.
Gustav groaned. He never said being like Nadia was a good thing.
