Kinnison Chapter 8
"Farm Town, The Grasslands"
(Somewhere in the Grasslands)

Kinnison looked up from the ground he was laying on, the wolves were restless. The cubs were tired with playing with the bones and were hungry for food. The wolves guarding him, likewise were just as hungry. He knew it was time now, he glanced around him, his Bow and arrows were to far away to reach. Around him was some vine, a few stones and Bone, he put his mind to work at once. He slowly took the vine as not to wake up the sleeping wolves, wrapped it around a large stone, then he wrapped the vine around a log a few feet above him. He pulled on the vine as hard as could pulling the rock up to the ceiling, using the bone he cut off the excess vine. he then tied the bone to it. With a quick swing the bone was thrown at the wolf's leg, then Kinnison let the vine go pulling the wolf up to the ceiling. Before the wolf could make a sound, Kinnison knocked it out with a small stone. Carefully Kinnison tip-toed over to his stuff, grabbed it and proceeded out. After making it a few feet he began to ran like no tomorrow, after running for a solid hour, Kinnison came to a halt. He was in a vast plain, there was grass spreading as far as the eye could see, a "sea of grass". Well almost, a 'bit to the northeast he saw a tree, Kinnison figured he would be able to see his surroundings up there. It took the rest of the day to arrive there, once he arrived there, he climbed to the very top of the tree and examined his surroundings. To the west there was a small settlement, to the far east he could see the mountains which separated Tinto from most of City-State. To the north and south was an endless sea of grass, he decided to first go west. Grab some supplies then head back eastward again, so he made his way, he miscalculated the distance though. He marched for two days without food or water, the third day he found a small spring and got some water, and filled up a canteen he found. He marched onward for one more day, during the trip, he tripped over a small wolf cub, smaller than when Shiro was a pup. The cub was a orangish red color, a color he had never seen on wolves. The cub was half starved and could barely stay awake, Kinnison decided to feed it when he arrived at the village.

The village was small to put it plainly, it consisted of a small Grocery/ Item shop, a few houses and a very old run-down Inn. The town was called, Farm town, which, Kinnison thought wasn't to imaginative. But it was well named, around the village there was alot of vegetables growing. But from what he could tell, they had suffered a drought because most of the plants were dying or dead. But enough of that, Kinnison then entered the Grocery, with the small amount of money he had leftover from Tinto. He was able to buy some dried food, buy some canteens and fill them and buy a few healing items. After that he used his remaining Money to stay at the Inn, when he got his room, he shut the door and began to nurse the young pup.

Kinnison awoke early the next morning, he began to head out of town, as he was nearing the exit a man wearing several sundials on his arm and in a long trench-coat approached Kinnison. "Ever wanted to talk to animals?" The Oddly dressed man asked.

"Yeah maybe" Kinnison thought as he thought back to a long time ago when he and Shiro led peaceful lives "Why?"

"I have a rare rune I got from an Old man that lets you talk to animals" The man said "And its your for a mere 50,000 Potch"

"50,000" Kinnison said, as his jaw dropped "I don't have that much...."

"How about a trade" The Man asked "Got any good stuff that I'd be interested in"

"Well..." Kinnison's mind raced, the Rage rune would be a fair trade... but Gregorio gave it to him to stop Highland with. The pendant.... the one he had with him, when Chelios found him. "How about this Pendant?"

"Hmm..." The man inspected the pendant and his eyes began to light up "This Pendant in of Harmonian design, its an antique.. wow... hmm... amazing. This is quite a relic you have here, I'll give you the Rune and throw in a custom copy of this, if you wait"

"That sounds good, I'm headed to Tinto though" Kinnison said as he removed the Pendant "Its all yours"

"Very good" the man answered as he handed the Hearing Rune to Kinnison "You can come pick it up at my home in Radar town"

"OK" Kinnison said, not really caring about stopping there, but finding his old friend Shiro. He immediately left after that, for hours he marched taking short breaks every now and then. Later that night Kinnison was sitting in front of the Fire, the young would cu reminded him of Shiro, he wondered where Shiro was..... truth was he missed him. (But you know that by now) He figured he had found a new home and was living a good life. He hoped that was the case, he had something he had to do, as soon as he was back in Jouston, he was joining the army. And then there was that Weird guy,, Talrick, he wanted to avoid that wacko. Then there was the cub, he had decided on a name, 'Kiro'. It wasn't imaginative really, but he wasn't planning on keeping him, he would release the cub in the Greenhill forest. That would be best for the cub, soon Kinnison thought's soon vanished as he fell in a deep slumber.

"Tinto!" Kinnison mused as he stood high on a tree across the river "Now wait..... that's Crom". "There's Tinto" Kinnison said, as if someone was actually listening "What's this city here.....". "Hmm.... if head east, then travel north to the bridge on the map...." Kinnison mumbled to himself examining the map "Oh well, I'll head East till I run into the River, then decide."

(Three days he arrived at the river, being in a strange mood that day, he chose to 'swim' the river. And he did so indeed, he swam right across, almost got eaten by crocodiles, Snakes and a Hippo. Not that you care, but the hippo escaped from the zoo, anyway, after that, Kinnison ran... ran.... ran... ran... rest... ran and whew....getting tired, better stop Narrating it)

After three days more he arrived at the river, he packed all his stuff together, and swam across. After getting across and being sopping wet. He stumbled into Crom village, after sleeping for three days straight, he spent the next two washing dishes for not having enough money. FINALLY after all that, he was able to gather information, apparently Mayor Gustav's daughter had taken Shiro in. With that in mind he packed his stuff (and the cub) and headed towards Tinto...... again!

Tinto.... the place where Kinnison fell 100 feet by Pink Birdies, didn't exactly have good memories there. Kinnison trekked the whole Place, it was confusing finding his way around. But nevertheless, he did, he found himself in front of Gustav's house. Inside he could hear the sound of a dog trying to escape.... unfortunately getting past the guard was impossible without good reason. so Kinnison stayed at the Inn to devise a plan to rescue his friend, if only a detective like that Rich--- something guy was here...........
