"Diary of a Doctor" (Muse) Doctor Huan was a very nice man. You could ask anyone in Muse, and they'd tell you the same thing. He was kind-hearted, intelligent, and very empathetic. He had had his office in Muse for almost ten years now. He really enjoyed reading, especially any new medical books...But there were never many of those, since he was pretty much the only Doctor on the continent, if not the only one. But, all that aside, Huan was a wise person who helped out anyone who needed help. He wasn't the tallest man, standing only around 5'8, and he certainly wasn't the strongest, being a mere 150 pounds, his skin was rather pale, and his tiny glasses corrected what was wrong with his vision, but what he didn't have in the other areas he made up in spirit. He smiled, and enjoyed his cup of mint tea, until... ...There was a knock at the door. It must have been the fifth today. The ebony-haired man got up from his table, finished his cup of tea, and walked over to the door. There was a boy standing there, in tears, holding his puppy. Puppy. This wasn't an animal hospital... "Doctor Huan! Doctor Huan! Please! Arfie got attacked by some Cut Rabbits! Please help him! I know you're not a doggie doctor, but please!" The boy cried. His name was Miki. He lived down the street from Huan...but now, was not the time for pleseantries. Huan took the dog from Miki, and smiled a bit. "Miki, please wait outside while I heal Arfie, okay..?" Huan said, quietly, and Miki moved away and sat outside, while Huan shut the door. Huan began the rather daunting task of repairing this poor puppy, who was lacerated rather badly by those damnable rabbits out there...He took out some cloths, some medicine, and some other tools, and began cleaning out the poor dogs wounds. It wasn't as bad as he had originally thought, no bone fractures, just skin damage. The medicine did it's work, especially with that Medicine Rune he had...he reminded himself to get that checked out later. He wrapped the serious wounds on Arfie with bandages, and applied a little more medicine. After a few minutes, Arfie was fine, despite being bruised a bit. "Here he is, Miki." Huan said, holding Arfie out to the boy who took the puppy extremely gratefully, and hugged the doctor's legs. "Thank you sooooo much Doctor Huan! Thank you thank you!" Miki ran off, with Arfie held tightly in his arms. Huan relaxed a bit, and cleaned his hands with soap. He itched at the top of his left palm...There was that rune. He had some free time. Why not go ask the Runemaster? It IS Muse, after all. Huan stepped out into the sunlight of the day. It was a beautiful day, too, the sun was shining, the clouds were flowing peacefully...Huan took a turn around to the back alley, and led himself into the Runemaster's shop. It was rather dark in there...But that was to be expected, really. Huan walked past a few strange-looking books and baubles, among other things, and walked up to the table where the Runemaster, what was her name...Sarah? He never actually asked before, he had never had much need for runes... "Welcome, O' Travel---Oh, it's you Doctor Huan. Is there anything I can do for you?" The Runemaster asked, pointing to a seat. Huan sat. It was rude to argue with Runemasters. "Sa...Sajra." That was her name. Sajra. "I have a question about this rune on my hand." Huan held out his left hand to let Sajra get a better look at what he was talking about. Sajra took his rather pale hand into hers, and investigated it. "It...seems to be a Medicine Rune. But there's something different about this one. It doesn't seem to be your typical Medicine Rune...stay here. Let me go check something." Sajra stood up, and moved into the back of the shop. After a few minutes, she came back with a dusty book, and was flipping through the pages. She stopped, and sat down. He took Huan's hand again, and looked in the book. And she smiled a bit. "This isn't the Medicine Rune. It's the True Medicine Rune." she said, almost as if she was extremely happy to find this. Huan was taken aback. "True Medi--What? What in the world? What does this mean?" He asked, looking at his hand. "It means, basically, your rune has the ability to take medicine, make it stronger, but also, to be able to use medicine on a few people at the same time, rather then just a normal Medicine Rune, which only uses medicine on one person. Where did you get this?" Sajra asked. Hmm. Where did I get it? ...It was long ago...Wasn't it?...Or was it only a few months ago... "I got it from Doctor Liukan of the Toran Republic a few years ago." Yeah...that was right...wasn't it? Sajra nodded. "Well, you should take good care of that. I don't know anything else about it. Maybe if you find an expert, they can tell you more about it. Until then, please have a nice day, Doctor." Sajra said, and basically waved Huan off. Huan nodded, thanked Sajra, and left the shop. He walked back into his home, and smiled. He sat back down at his table, and sipped a little more tea. ...Then, there was another knock at his door...
