"The return of an old enemy" (South Window/Areas near South Window) Sun rose to the sky and night turned into a sunny morning. The morning sun light touched the waking city. It was time to get up and start the new day. Couple of merchants were already waiting infront of the Trading Center. Runemaster opened his shop. Soon after the Item shop opened it’s doors. City Hall’s door opened as well. Now the city was awaken. Granmeyer walked down the stairs of City Hall. He headed for the Inn. The Inn was the only place where one could get fresh baked breads and caces. Granmeyer stepped in and went to a table. Soon after a waiter brought him a large sandwich. After finishing his breakfast, Granmeyer slowly walked back to City Hall. “What the hell......what is this?” “I don’t know. I haven’t ever seen so many of those in a same place at the same time.” “Me neither. What do you think is going on?” “I really don’t know....hey...look at that.” “What is this...they are bowing to that man.” “It seems so. And look there. Weapons....swords and....spears.” “What is going on here? It looks like they are preparing for a battle.” “It seems so. Let’s get the hell outta here before they see us.” “You are right. Let’s go.” Granmeyer was back in his office. He was just about to start looking over some reports, when a guard came in. “Yes, what is it?” “My lord, two travellers want to see you. They say that they saw a large group of monsters at the southern border.” “So? That isn’t so--” “The said that the monsters had weapons...and they were bowing to a....human.” “What? Send them in.” “Yes, my lord.” Granmeyer got up from his chair. Two men walked in. Granmeyer walked to them. “I am Lord Granmeyer, the mayor of and ruler of South Window.” The men bowed to Granmeyer. “You told to my soldiers that you saw something out there at the southern border?” “Y...yes. This may be hard to believe but....we saw an army of monsters...and there was a human in the middle of them.” “Tell me more.” “Well, we were eating lunch when suddenly we heard some noise coming behind a hill. So we took a look. There was a complete horde of monsters. All sorts of them.” “Continue.” “The most weird thing was that there was a human...commanding them.” “A human....a man....he didn’t happen to have a purple uniform?” “How...how did you know???” Granmeyer’s eyes went wide. The travellers noticed that a look of fear came to Granmeyer’s face. Granmeyer went to the office door. “Call commanders Dreyfulus and Cleovan here at once!!!” Granmeyer walked to his desk. He leaned to the table and took his classes off. The Army commanders came in. Dreyfulus walked to Granmeyer and bowed. “You called for us, my lord.” Granmeyer turned slowly towards him. “Yes.....we have a problem...a serious problem.” The commanders looked confused. Granmeyer put his classes back to his nose. He walked to the window. “These travellers told me that they saw a horde of monsters...led by a man.” “What???!!!” “It can’t be!!!!” Granmeyer looked at the travellers. “Tell the commanders what you told me.” The travellers told what they saw to the commanders. A man in a purple uniform commanding the monsters. Both of the commanders looked like they’ve seen a ghost. “Could it be?” “But I thought that he died when the army came.” Granmeyer sat down. “Apparently not. And now that he is back.....I know that he’ll try to finish what he begun. The other traveller came closer to the desk. “Who are you talking about?” Granmeyer looked to the man’s eyes. “A couple of years ago we were fighting against the Scarlet Moon Empire. We nearly lost this city because of a one man. A man with a special ability to control monsters.” “But why is he.........” “He was one of the Imperial Company commanders, Commander Freiderlock. He was ordered to take out the southern and the western defence of the City-State. Fortunately his troops weren’t a match against the forces of City-State. But after his defeat, he revealed his true powers. He gathered an army of monsters.” Granmeyer told what happened back then. Freiderlock attacked South Window while Granmeyer was away with his army and South Window was almost defenceless. After Granmeyer got the message of the attack, he took his troops and came to save the city. Freiderlock’s monsters had killed all troops from the city. It was now controlled by Freiderlock. When Freiderlock was about to attack the people of the city. Granmeyer arrived with his army. Freiderlock noticed Granmeyer’s army and attacked it. While the soldiers were fighting the monsters, Granmeyer and his army officers went inside the city by a secret passage that led to City Hall. After they got inside, they attacked Freiderlock him self. It was a duel between Granmeyer and Freiderlock. But because Granmeyer wasn’t as young and strong as Freiderlock, he was beaten quickly. Just as Freiderlock was about to strike a final hit, the soldiers of Granmeyer’s army run into the city. They shot arrows at Freiderlock and he got hit. He fell to the ground. But as he fell, he used his Blink Rune and disappeared. Everyone assumed that Freiderlock didn’t survive the arrow’s hit, but it seems that he did. After Granmeyer told this to the travellers, he got up and walked to a cabinet. He opened the cabinet and took his sword. “I hoped that I wouldn’t have to use this ever again....but now I have to. Commanders, get the army ready. We’re going to make a surprise attack before the monster army comes here.” “Yes, my lord.” The commanders left the office. Granmeyer looked at the travellers. “Thank you for informing us of this matter. You will be well rewarded.” “Thank you, Lord Granmeyer. Please, be careful.” Granmeyer walked to the city gate. The army was getting prepared. The commanders came to Granmeyer. “The 2nd Company is ready.” “And so is the 3rd Company.” “Very well.....let’s move out.” The army begun to move. They walked in a formation that reminded of a huge triangle. The army had about 3000 soldiers. Granmeyer and his commanders were at the front of the army. After them came the cavalry, about 1000 men, after that was the infarny, about 2000 men, and the last was the medical unit. Granmeyer had hoped that the 1st Company would have been available too, but it was assigned to train in Muse. After a three hour walk, they came to a big hill. Granmeyer ordered the army to stop. He listened....it was silent...not even a breath of wind. Granmeyer looked to the top of the hill....nothing. Granmeyer turned to his commanders. “It is too silent. There is definitely something going on here....listen...not even a single sound. No birds...no nothing.” “What should we do?” “Let’s send a scout to the top of the hill. And---” “Well well well, what do we have here!!!” Granmeyer turned quickly around and looked at the hill. There was a man standing on a fallen tree. “Now let’s finish what we started!!!” “What you started, Freiderlock!!! This time you won’t get away!!!” Freiderlock laughed. Laughed like a maniac. “He he he he!!!! Do you really think that you can win!!!??? Ha ha ha ha!!! You don’t stand a chance!!” Monsters started to appear on the hill. Granmeyer looked at Dreyfulus. “Take the 2nd Company and form a defence line.” “Yes sir.” Dreyfulus went to the 2nd Company and carried out the orders. Granmeyer turned to Cleovan. “Divide the 3rd Company in to two parts. Form two assault units.” “As you wish, my lord.” Granmeyer walked to his personal unit. He looked at the hill. The mosters started to move and come down the hill. Freiderlock shouted to his monsters with a burning flame in his eyes. “Don’t leave anyone alive....except the old man.....he’s mine....hahahahaha.....”
