Freed Chapter 4
"The Observee"
(Radat)

Freed looked at Rikimaru. "We're are right in front of my house. You can meet my wife."

"Does she cook?" Rikimaru responded.

They walked over to the Yamamoto residence. Freed opened his door and entered. "Yoshino! I am back!"

"Oh, what a nice surprise! You stopped by to visit!" Yoshino called out entering the room.

"You're clothes they're in horrible condition! How am I going to wash them?"

Rikimaru stood there. "This is your wife?" Rikimaru asked.

"Yes. Rikimaru, this is my wife Yoshino."

Rikimaru walked over and did a small bow out of respect.

"Yoshino this is my friend Sir Rikimaru," Freed said in his normal polite way.

"Pleased to meet you," Yoshino replied. "Why don't we sit down for some lunch?"

"I thought you'd never ask!" Rikimaru exclaimed, rushing into the kitchen.

After eating some lunch they were all sitting around the table.

"So, Freed I am so happy you are back," Yoshino said smiling at her husband.

Rikimaru grabbed a chicken leg and took a big bite. "Yoshino you make great chicken!"

"Thank you Sir Rikimaru."

"You can cut that out too!" Rikimaru said in between big bites. He gave a hearty laugh.

"Anyway Yoshino, I must begin my secret mission for Lord Granmeyer. Rikimaru, if it is okay with Yoshino you are welcome to stay with us."

"Of course," Yoshino replied.

"Hey thanks!" Rikimaru replied. "You are great people!"

"Anyway Freed, have a good time. Dinner will be at 7:00. I understand if you are still pursuing your mission."

Freed looked at her. He wished he could spend some more time with her; but duty called. He bowed to her and stepped out.

Freed looked around. Where was Shu? He needed to find him and discover his secrets. Maybe Richmond could help. Freed looked around for the private investigator. He was no where to be found. Freed supposed he'd just have to stakeout Shu's house. Freed approached Shu's house. He stood near a window. As soon as Shu exited, Freed would follow him and get a scent. Minutes passed to hours. Freed couldn't take the chance that he'd miss Shu. He had to complete his mission for Lord Granmeyer!

Freed saw the saw start to rise. He had missed dinner. Phooey! Richmond walked up. Freed thought of asking him about Shu but that would reveal his secret mission. No, he'd just watch silently for Shu to leave. Eventually, Shu exited. Freed followed at a reasonable distance.

Freed didn't think he was too bad of a spy however Shu turned around and approached him.

"Good afternoon," Shu said.

Freed felt very nervous. Shu must not discover his secret mission. "Um... Good afternoon," Freed replied.

"Could I help you with something, Freed?" Shu asked. His down-to-business manner was almost overwhelming.

"Uh... no, I'm, just on a walk."

"Freed, just come out and say it, what do you want?"

Freed felt flustered. "Nothing, I don't need anything, Mr. Shu Sir."

Freed turned around and left as fast as he could. He knew Shu didn't believe him. How was he going to finish his mission? Perhaps Rikimaru could help?
