"The Last Straw" (Outside Radat) The sun rose shining on Freed's face. Freed opened his eyes and put on his glasses. Rikimaru was up cooking a piece of fish. "Good morning freed! Thanks to you I had the strength to cook this. Want some?" Freed walked over and sat down next to the samurai. "Thank you sir. That would be very kind." Rikimaru handed him a fish on a stick. Freed looked at the charred mass. He smiled and took a bite. Freed now knew why Rikimaru was always hungry. Freed kept a smile on his face. "I'm not too good of a chef. I don't like my own food. I'm actually pretty bad." Freed grimaced. "No, you're not to bad." He then took another bite. Freed always liked to make people save face. "See," Freed said. "Maybe I'm not so bad," Rikimaru said. Freed put down the fish. He felt really sick. "I'm going to go wash my face in the stream. Where's the stream?" Rikimaru looked vacantly at Freed. "You know the one where you found the fish?" Rikimaru looked at Freed. "Oh! No, I didn't find the fish in a stream. I found it that small cave over there." Rikimaru pointed to a small cave. Freed examined the cave. It looked like some animal would live in it... Suddenly a big bear popped out. He was upset that his fish had been stolen earlier and he was hungry. Freed took one look at the bear and knew one thing. They should run, now! Freed and Rikimaru ran for the lives from the hungry bear. The bear was gaining. "What do we do?" Freed asked, huffing and puffing as they ran. "Well we could try to fight it?" Rikimaru suggested. "Okay," Freed said. They stopped the massive bear was in front of them. The bear lashed out with his claws. Freed lunched back but; the right arm to Freed's shirt was torn clean off. Rikimaru knicked the bear with his samurai sword. The bear roared and grabbed Rikimaru. He was clawing and scraping. Freed ran up behind the bear and slashed it with a strong swing. The bear dropped Rikimaru. It turned to Freed. "What was this bear?" Freed thought. It, the despite the best efforts of Freed grabbed him. It was clawing and scraping. Freed could feel his clothing being shredded and cuts forming over his body. Rikimaru jumped in the air and with a samurai swing delivered a fatal slash to the bear. The bear of course dropped Freed and fell himself. Freed stood up shaken. The bear was dead. Freed thought he heard a sound. Rikimaru seemed to as well. They listened very carefully. They then saw 5 other bears chasing them. They didn't look too happy. Freed and Rikimaru ran for the lives. 1 bear maybe wasn't too bad; but 5 bears were to be feared. Freed and Rikimaru ran. They saw a stream. They jumped in it. The current carried them away from the bears. It was a good thing they could both swim. Eventually they made it to land. Their clothes were ripped and they were soaking wet! "Hey, Freed, isn't that Radat?" Rikimaru asked. Freed saw Radat. Once they got there, Freed could go home and change. "Why don't we go, Rikimaru sir?" Freed said. Rikimaru laughed. "Freed we are friends, you don't have to call me sir!" "Okay...Rikimaru," Freed replied. Rikimaru laughed and put his arm around Freed entering town. Freed and Rikimaru entered town. Freed wondered what Shu was up to?" Almost on cue, Shu walked closer to them eyeing them. They were soaking wet and their clothes were ripped up. Shu shrugged and continued his walk.
