"Separation Anxiety" (Lakewest) "Are you sure you could handle it?" "Of course I can! It'll be all right!" "Everything ok! Me know you can do it!" "Well, if that's what you decided, I won't stop you. See you in Muse sis." The solid ground was suddenly became smooth. Eilie felt the softness of the sand massage her feet as she entered the little town known as Lakewest. Not a very big town, eh? Eilie thought to herself, looking at the outlines of the little huts. Nighttime had already fallen less than an hour ago, and the stars sent little illumination on the ground. The rippled reflections on the moon showed Eilie the path to the see. Hopefully, a fisherman would be leaving and she could catch a ride to Coronet. The whole little village was dark, except for the ever present candle light from the Inn. Eilie reached the harbor, luckily all the ships were there. Even luckier for her was the fact that a man was standing next to one of the ships, unmoving. Due to the darkness, she could not see his face, but she could make out a cape, and long hair. "Excuse me.." She tapped him on the shoulder. "Would it be possible to get….." "Unhand me, vile ruffian!" "What?! What's that annoying music?!" On closer inspection she managed to see who she was speaking too. A man with cape and green clothes, a rose placed delicately between his fingers. A little of his long blond hair dropping over one eye. And of course who can forget the music. "Have you no appreciation for the fine music?" He looked at her, young, unstylish black hair, and simple vulgar clothes. I, the magnificent Vincent de Boule, will make it my soul wrenching task that you shall be known of the greatness of the fine arts. Yes, it is because of your endless luck that you have found me to teach you to be a fine young Lady, then you can meet my good friends McDohl and Viki…. Where did you go..?" Leaving the man to babble endlessly, Eilie gave a sigh of relief and went on her hunt to find some sailors. She froze dead in her track, seeing a shadow approaching from the other end of town. "Oh finally… I was wondering if I could get a ride on your ship to Coronet." The shadow said nothing, only continued walking toward the unsuspecting Eilie. Closer he got the more the shadow rubbed away, revealing a dark man dressed in ancient tribal robes. Eile quickly realized he was from the a grasslands tribe, since these clothes were not familiar in the City States, and judging by the way he was holding his sword and lurching toward her, his intentions were not friendly. Eilie's instincts kicked in, and she grabbed for her knives. The Karayian warrior dashed toward his intended victim, slashing his sword. Eilie side stepped the attack, but in her haste she dropped her knife. A smile reached the large man, the woman was powerless, and one swipe would be able to get rid of her. He underestimated her, for in a flash she got down and kicked his knees, giving her a chance to reach for her knife. Eilie rolled to the side and grabbed her knife. In one clean throw the blade pierced the warrior's throat. It was supposedly over, and Eilie cleaned the knife she pulled out of his throat, leaving her vulnerable to the man behind her. The blow of his attack threw her to the ground. There was no chance to be able to strike him since he was too close to Eilie. He pried the sword from his fallen companion's dead hand. Weakened, Eilie staggered away before sword was completely in her opponent's hands. Strength reached Eilie's legs again, and she managed to evade him and reach the beach, bumping into a familiar person. "…and furthermore, it is very unladylike to…… ouch! What is the meaning of this uncivilized aggression on me?" Eilie ignored the man's pleadings and lectures, eyeing the stalker. She ran to the nearby houses and placed her shoulders in front of the walls. He was in her path now. She ran her fingers through the knife handle, and swiftly hurled it. The attacker, clearly a skilled swordsman, deflected the attack. The knife changed it course and headed straight for Vincent's cape. "Barbarian! Look what you did to my expensive elegant cape!! You shall pay" The "barbarian" laughed, basing Vincent's skill on his looks, which just screamed "please come and attack me". The moment his back was turned, though, was Eilie's chance to strike him right in the back, before Vincent managed to release his fury with his trusted deadly… rose. More tribe men shifted out of the shadows, their bloodthirsty cries woke up half of Lakewest. Eilie noticed the escape route, a boat was leaving the harbor. She ran as fast as possible, jumping at the last moment in the ship, leaving her angry pursuers at the shore. Eilie noticed, though, a strange figure standing on top of the roof. The darkness cloaked the figure too much to notice any distinguishing features other than the tenseness in her position. What were grassland barbarians doing in the city states, and why were they chasing her? "Hey, what are you doing here?" One of the crew of the ship noticed their extra passenger. "eh… Sorry, but I was attacked… and had to get into the ship to escape them." "Great, two in one night, well, ok. You can come in" "Oh great! When will we reach Coronet?" "Coronet?!" The man laughed. "Lady, this ship is going to Kuskus." Great. She thought, Kuskus? Now she'd never be able to reach Muse. First she was ambushed by unknown men, and then this. In an optimistic note at least… "Non non non!" Eilie heard a voice from under the deck. "I asked for Filet Mignion! Not dull fish!" No! Not……. "Damn, where does this stupid music come from anyway?" "Stupid?! Stupid?!" ….Vincent. The familiar head popped out of the deck's door. "Ah, if it isn't my good new friend, could not resist the undying passionate urge to become a sophisticated lady, non non? We have the time, and it is my promise as a gentleman that you shall be an elegant young woman." The ship sailed away into the night, the sea disturbed by screams of a tortured "young woman".
