"A Discussion with the High Priest" (L'Renouille) Agares sat in the War Room, alone. He gazed out the window, getting a good view of L'Renouille. It was a good city. It was a center of learning, trade, home to hundreds of people, all who depended on him. There was a knock at the door. "Enter." Agares said. This would be his guest. The door opened and High Priest Sasalai entered the room. He wore his robes of office and his ridiculous hat. Agares smiled. "Ah, Lord Sasalai." He said. "Please, sit down." "Thank you, King Agares." Sasalai seated him across from the Monarch. "Now, High Priest," Began Agares. "I merely wanted to discuss some things with you, in case of a war." "It looks like there will be a War, regardless." Sasalai replied. "The way the Prince destroyed that one village just recently. What was it's name, Moto?" "I believe the village in question was called 'Toto'." Agares said. "Prince Ruka awaits some harsh treatment when he returns. He will be disciplined for this." "One would hope this would temper his rage somehow." Sasalai said. "One would hope so." Agares replied. "Now, Lord Sasalai, if we may begin?" Sasalai nodded. "Of course. What is it you want to know?" Agares leaned back in his chair. "Just some concerns." He said. "The first thing on my mind is the Beast Rune. It's unsettling the people of L'Renouille by just being here. Will it be on loan, or is it here for good?" "The Beast Rune is a treasure of Harmonia." Sasalai said. "If war is averted, it will return to Harmonia with me. If war does occur, it will remain here until Highland wins." "Good." Agares said. "Highland will be relieved to have a power that we know little about without you here." "You needn't worry." Sasalai remarked. "Excellent!" Agares said. "Now, on to my second question: What is Harmonia's stand on the war. Will you offer us only the Beast Rune, will you become allies of Highland, or will you remain neutral?" "Harmonia is worried about Jowston winning this war. If it were to win, we are worried it might set it's sights on Harmonia. Therefore, Harmonia shall lend you military power, should Jowston appear to be winning. If need be, we can release the power of the Beast Rune." "I pray we never have to." Agares said. "For is it not true that only 100 or more Human sacrifices can awaken the Beast Rune?" Sasalai hesitated. "Yes...But it is Harmonia's hope that it never happens. But if it is too happen, you could sacrifice enemy lives. I know for a fact Muse has much more then 100 people living in it." "But the people would hate me for sacrificing even enemy lives in such an evil manner. I'd have to mask it somehow, like sacrificing Dummies even after I'd done it." "That's one way, of course." Sasalai said. "Yes..." Agares said. "Now, on to my third, and final question. What do you know of the Traskthor Ruins?" Apparently, Sasalai hadn't been expecting this. "Th-the Traskthor Ruins?" He asked. "They are only Legend!" "So was the King's Stone until my ancestor Gladegus Bright discovered the Temple of the Kings." "You really think the Infinity Stone is real?" Sasalai asked, amazed. "It would double Highland's Power." Agares said. "It is the sister stone of my King's Stone. Within it are the elements of Wind and Earth. It's power would not only be a huge morale booster to Highland, but also a sign of Highland's power. So please, tell me everything you know." Again, Sasalai hesitated. "Very well." He said. "The Traskthor Ruins were created 1000 years ago to safeguard the Infinity Stone, a stone whose power could topple Armies and destroy Kingdoms. Likewise, it's sister stone, the King's Stone, was placed in the Temple of the Kings. The legends say the Traskthor Ruins are somewhere in Northwestern Harmonia, but that Area is largely uninhabited and the deepest parts are said to have huge, terrible Monsters unknown to mankind." "Northwestern Harmonia..." Agares said. "I see. Thank you for your time, Lord Sasalai." "Not a problem, King Agares." Sasalai said, rising from his chair. "Please enjoy the remainder of your stay here at L'Renouille." Agares said smiling. "If you need anything, my servants will be more then happy to serve you." "I shall keep that in mind." Sasalai said. He left the room. Durimal appeared from behind a tapestry on one wall. "Shall I send a scouting party to Northwest Harmonia, sire?" Durimal asked. "NO." Agares said. "We'll wait until we get this war started. Then I'll have reason to get the Infinity Stone. Then I can complete my life's greatest achievement." "Of course, sire." Durimal said, bowing. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be going." Durimal disappeared behind the tapestry.
